My First Poem

Acceptance
For a moment in time I welcomed the feeling of acceptance.
They danced laughed and leaped before me.
We talked in electric, agitated, and cheerful voices.
You could sense the joy in the room as many strangers, friends, and companions shared that instant moment of pure bliss.
The room, filled with booming chatter, could not have been anymore culminating.
It was the best day of my life.
In that moment  it didn't matter that these people probably won't recall who I am beyond these four walls or that I would spend my afternoon sitting in my room engulfed in my own shadow of solitude while they are out still enjoying each others company.
This is a moment I won't forget because for an instant strangers became best friends, I was acknowledged and what I longed for was finally here.

Upon the ending of that joyous moment, reality set in.
I won't get invited anywhere, no one will question my absence in any event or function.
No one will mull over and question if "anyone even invited her?"
For years I have become accustomed to the solitude that is my life, I may have even welcomed it. I wish they could see how lost and gloomy I am.
I don't ask for much.
All I long for is a little bit of attention and sincere association.
For now, I will continue to live in this shadow and pray for someday, someone to give me the chance to bloom.
All I want is to be accepted

My favorite book!

One of my favorite novels is Pride and Prejudice, and no it is not because of the movie. I have read the book and feel completely in love with the story and the beautiful wording used by Jane Austen. The book compared to the movie is not the same experience, in my experience the movie lacks a lot of the humor and independence of the main character Elizabeth Bennet. In my opinion the story is much better when explained in depth and also the book thankfully gives us insight about everyone's story and how it all came to end. By far, my all time favorite novel is Pride and Prejudice.

Introduction!

Hello! My name is Monica :)
I chose this topic because I do consider myself a writer, I write all the time; about everything.
It helps me express the feelings I suppress, about my daily experiences and things I simply can't say.
Now am I a good writer? I dont know but I know that my words are coming from within and completely sincere.
